Music Production is about how to arrange and produce music in today's society. You will learn how to create the sounds you want to hear, and blend them into the type of song you want to produce using the most modern technology available.

Voice (singing)

You can take vocal lessons at the professional level with Jason Hatch for $30/half hour or at the prepatory level (ages 5-18) with Jr Munoz for $25/half hour. Both Jason and Jr are excellent teachers and are great with kids and adults. They both teach all styles of singing.

Guitar

Guitar Lessons vary from classical guitar instruction to modern styles such as rock, metal, punk, blues, country, and jazz. We have several teachers that all specialize in different styles. Popular areas of study include sweep picking, learning the neck of the guitar, finger picking, flat picking, alternate picking, chords and scales, reading music on the guitar, learning popular music, Nashville notation, reading chord charts, improvising over blues and jazz standards, and more! Piano

Piano Lessons vary from classical formal instruction to modern chord and song playing. From Suzuki and Bach to One Republic and Coldplay, you will find the type of piano lessons you are looking for. Popular areas of study include classical piano, ragtime piano, blues piano, boogie-woogie piano, jazz piano, gospel piano, country and western piano, and pop/rock piano.

Pro Tools

Designed for musicians and engineers. Lessons start at the beginner level with no experience required and go all the way up to Pro Tools Certification preparation. System used is a Digi 002 running Pro Tools LE 8. Also used is a Digidesign Control 24 surface.

Music Theory

Music Theory lessons are designed for serious musicians who want to expand their knowledge of theory. They are perfect for the high school musician wanting to audition for music at the University level. Most major colleges and universities require a theory placement exam, and having a good knowledge of theory could earn you college credit. Theory includes scales, chords, nashville/numeral chord notation, keys and key changes, chord tones and altered chords, substitutions, 4 voice counterpoint, and more.

Bass Guitar

In bass guitar lessons you will learn how to outline chords with the bass, play your favorite songs, and learn general music theory. You will also learn about the styles you are interested in, such as slap bass, classic rock, jazz, blues, etc.

Banjo

Banjo lessons cover the basics of playing the banjo, including fretting and strumming open chords, learning the names of the strings and the notes, and of course learning banjo songs. If you have a favorite banjo song or subject that YOU want to learn, we will teach it to you!

Studio Art

Studio Art classes are designed for all ages and skill levels. You can choose Private Art Lessons or enroll in a Group Art Class. Private lessons are $25/half hour or $50/hour and meet once per week. Group classes cost $25 per class and meet once per week. Areas of study include the elements of design, an overview of art history, painting techniques, drawing techniques, oil paint vs. acrylic paint, pencil, watercolor, oil pastels, and more. You will explore many different styles, including abstract, acrylic gel transfer, portraits, and still life. Example Lessons would be understanding the proportions of the human face and body, understanding color schemes and complementary colors, fundamentals of balance such as radial, asymmetrical, and symmetrical. Students will practice mimicking the works of famous artists and their techniques. Most importantly, art lessons are fun, interactive, and highly customized to the students' interests. Materials are not included in class prices but will be available for purchase upon registration.

Songwriting

Songwriting classes are designed to teach the fundamentals of song structure, music theory, tension and release concepts, how to write a hook/chorus, how to write a bridge, modulation and key change, nashville notation, intros/outros, melodic development, lyrical development, and more. The expertise of our songwriting instructors will help jump-start your songwriting career. You will be exposed to the songwriting industry first hand at Stomp Music Studios. You will also make vital connections in the DFW music industry if you choose to work hard and pursue a career in this field.

Master Class

Master Classes are taught on the first Saturday of every month from 12-1pm. Our staff of professional teachers alternate teaching this class, so it covers a wide range of subjects and formats, including jam sessions, student and teacher performances, critiques, music theory, and music appreciation. This class is a good opportunity to broaden your musical skills as well as meet the other teachers and students. Due to the number of Monday Student Holidays, Monday private lesson students may attend master classes for free.

Policies:

Stomp Music Studios does not require students to sign a contract. We do ask for 24hr notice on rescheduling lessons. We also ask for 30 days notice to cancel lessons. Ultimately, each instructor makes their own makeup lesson policies so be sure to talk with your instructor if you have questions about makeup lessons. Payment for lessons is made out to Stomp Music Studios at the beginning of the month to reserve your spot with your instructor. You may lose your lesson spot if you do not pay by the 7th of each month.
